Knife Skills Workshop – Learn the Essential Techniques Used in Professional Kitchens

Vegan, nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free

A good knife is the most important tool in any kitchen. Learning how to use it properly makes cooking safer, faster and far more enjoyable.

Join us at Ground Up Cookery School in Chudleigh, Devon for a 1.5-hour practical knife skills workshop focused on the essential techniques used by professional chefs. This one of the many practical cookery classes offered at Ground Up Cookery School, designed to build confidence in the kitchen. Whether you are new to cooking or simply want to improve your confidence and efficiency in the kitchen, this relaxed session will help you build skills you can use every day.

During the workshop you will learn about the different types of kitchen knives, how to look after and maintain them, how to hold and control a knife safely, and how to use a range of core cutting techniques.

To practise these skills, everyone will prepare a fresh Asian slaw, giving you the opportunity to work on consistent slicing, fine cutting and knife control. You will then take your finished slaw home.

Please bring a 500ml jar or container to take your slaw home in. Appropriate Kilner jars are available to purchase at Ground Up Cookery School.
