Please read these terms & conditions carefully before purchasing any of our products, events or courses. Once a purchase has been made (“the client(s)”) will have entered a binding contract on the basis of these terms & conditions. If you have any questions about them please do not hesitate to contact us.

1.Agreement

Agreement on the basis these terms & conditions arise upon the fulfilment of all of an order being placed. Ground Up Cookery School reserves the right, in its absolute discretion and without the need to give reasons, to refuse to accept an order. In such circumstances no agreement arises and Ground Up Cookery School will return any payment accompanying the order. The agreement is between Ground Up Cookery School and the client(s) and is the sole agreement between those parties. No variation of these terms & conditions shall be applicable unless agreed in writing by Ground Up Cookery School before the relevant order. The person ordering shall be deemed to sign that form for his / herself and as agent for all other persons listed on that form and warrants that he/she is appointed agent for that purpose.

The agreement is governed by English law.

2. Payment

The order must be paid in full, including postage prior to the order being fulfilled/attended.

3. Arriving Late

We expect all courses to start promptly and reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone arriving late. If this happens no refund will be offered. Please make every effort to alert us if you are running late.

4. Personal Possessions

When attending courses, we do not advise you to bring or wear items of high value. We will not accept responsibility for loss or damage to any personal possessions.

5. Right to refuse entry

We reserve the right to refuse entry to an event or cookery course. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions you agree to the following:

    • ▪ Age restrictions may apply for some events and courses. Please ensure that you check, these will be clear when booking.

    • ▪ Children under 16 years of age are the responsibility of their parent or guardian and must be supervised at all times.

    • ▪ Drakes Farm is a working farm and cannot accept responsibility for risks and hazards. Areas of the farm are open to the public for which Drakes Farm are responsible. Ground Up Cookery School accept no responsibility outside the boundaries of the school.

    • ▪ Cars are parked at the owner’s risk. No responsibility can be accepted for loss of property or damage to vehicles whilst on site. All attendees must park in a considerate manner as spaces are shared with the the cafe and farm shop.

    • ▪ Dogs are not allowed on site. Any requirement for guide dogs must be discussed in advance.

  • ▪ Ground Up Cookery School will not be liable for any failure to provide the services contracted in the following circumstances: Industrial action by employees; Industrial action by staff or a major supplier; Fire, lightning, aircraft impact, explosion, riot and civil commotion, malicious damage, storm, tempest, flood, burst pipes, earthquakes and impact, terrorism; Breakdown of plant or any failure to supply to site of gas, electricity, water services etc.; Any other circumstances beyond reasonable control of Ground Up Cookery School.

 

6. Behaviour

We reserve the right to insist that you leave the premises if in our reasonable opinion you behave in an unacceptable manner.

7. Void Booking

We will not admit anyone who has purchased a place for our events or cookery courses from any source other than our official website. Any resale or attempt to resell a place will refer the booking void.

8. Cancelation

We may cancel any event or cookery course due to events or circumstances outside our reasonable control. In the unlikely event of this happening we may reschedule any event or course, offer a suitable alternative location, or refund you in full. If we do cancel, reschedule or make any changes, we will notify you by telephone or by email as soon as is reasonably possible. We will not reimburse you for any other costs (including travel or accommodation costs) if a course/event is cancelled or rescheduled.

9. Reschedule

You may cancel or reschedule a booking up to 4 weeks before the event/course takes place. After that time, we will endeavour to resell your place and if successful will reimburse you 75% of the price paid.

9a. Corona Virus 

Our usual cancellation policy requests 4 weeks notice, however we respect that at the moment people are having to make personal decision about risks relating to Corona Virus. We will respect and honour those decisions and allow guests to postpone attendance to future courses. If you are displaying symptoms we would obviously ask you not to attend and to postpone to another date. 

10. Recall

Recall - In the unlikely event that a product must be recalled Ground Up Cookery School will contact the client and inform them of the steps they need to take. The price of the recalled product/course including postage will be refunded in full by Ground Up Cookery School.

11. Liability

Ground Up Cookery School accepts no liability of a products condition once it has been opened by a client as we can no longer guarantee the product is in the same state in which it left us. Ground Up Cookery School accepts no liability on a products condition in where the client has not followed the guidelines provided on the container, label or enclosed guidelines.

At Ground Up Cookery School we follow strict HACCP procedures in relation to the creation of our range of products, these procedures guide our analysis and control of hazards for the creation of the product leading to the safety of continued consumption of the product.

Ground Up Cookery School accepts no liability in the ways in which the products they supply are used, this liability is taken fully by the client who should have the necessary food hygiene qualifications required.

12. Complaints

In the unlikely event that a client has cause for complaint about a Ground Up Cookery School product/course, a complaint should be made in writing within 28 days. To the extent permitted by law Ground Up Cookery School will not be liable in respect of claims first intimated later than 28 days from the close of the relevant order.

13. Returns

In the case that Ground Up Cookery School is liable returns will be covered in full by Ground Up Cookery School. In the case that the client is liable or simply decides they no longer want the order Ground Up Cookery School will not cover the cost of return, this will be covered by the client. If a product is returned in original re-sellable condition a full refund will be issued by Ground Up Cookery School to the client.

14. Delivery

The delivery service provider are liable for the delivery of an item. Ground Up Cookery School will package items in a way sufficient as to avoid reasonable damage during transit. Delivery options are made during your checkout process and we select a courier we deem appropriate.

15. Your statutory rights

This agreement does not affect your statutory rights.

16. Insolvency and cancellation

Insolvency and cancellation by Ground Up Cookery School. - In the unlikely event that Ground Up Cookery School becomes insolvent, where possible all money will be refunded in full. In the event that Ground Up Cookery School cancels an order, all money will be refunded in full, or if preferred transferred as a deposit for another product of the same cost.
