Join us at The Ground Up Cookery School and create a range of tasty food and drinks using foraged, seasonal and local ingredients. Based within the beautiful Dartmoor National Park in the heart of Devon, this two-part course begins at the school for refreshments before departing for a guided walk. We will assist you in identifying and collecting a range of seasonal fruit, nuts, leaves, roots or fungi to take back to the Ground Up Cookery School Kitchen for the second part of the day.
The afternoon will be spent cooking some amazing dishes. You will learn general skills as well as specific delicious recipes, to replicate at home. No prior experience is necessary, however if you are an experienced cook, you will have the opportunity to push yourself further.
We will taste all the dishes on the day, but bring containers as there will be the opportunity to take some home to share with your friends and family!
The course content will vary with the seasons, no two dates will be the same.

Testimonials
“I took part in the 22nd June course on Foraging and cooking. This was absolutely incredible experience, you start the day with Colin, who’s experience and knowledge is entertaining, engaging and great to learn from. You quickly find yourself surprised with how easy it is, and where to find and not to find delicious plants and flowers you can use safely in your own kitchen. In the afternoon you get the chance to cook with the things you found in the morning creating with your class the most amazing dishes which you then get to share and try in a lovely lunch in a wonderful location.
Through out the day Colin gives you samples of delightful foraged dishes and inspires you to try this at home.
This was amazing day, and it’s an eye opening experience I highly recommended for people to do. You also get to make a delicious bread and take what is left of your dish home. Great Day and feeling inspired to do more!” D Pike, Facebook
“The most awesome day at #groundupcookery with Colin and Natasha. Fun, informative and best of all tasty. What this man doesn’t know about foraging isn’t worth knowing. Relaxed and informal setting, the day consisted of lots of knowledge, taste sensations and many foraging tips and takeaways. Even a free book to take home. You WONT be disappointed.” A Yendell, Facebook
