Forage, Cook, Feast: A Seasonal Adventure at Ground Up Cookery School
Discover the art of creating delicious meals using foraged, seasonal, and local ingredients in the heart of the stunning Devon countryside. This unique two-part course combines the thrill of foraging with the joy of cooking, offering an unforgettable day out.
Morning: Foraging Expedition
Begin your day at Ground Up Cookery School with refreshments before setting off on a guided walk. With our expert guidance, you’ll learn to identify and collect a variety of seasonal treasures—fruit, nuts, leaves, roots, or fungi—to take back to our kitchen. You will taste a whole host of new flavours along the way and learn the basic principles for safe foraging.
Afternoon: Cooking Workshop
Back at the cookery school, it’s time to transform your foraged finds into amazing dishes. You’ll learn practical cooking techniques, delicious recipes, and hone your skills—whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced cook ready to take on a new challenge.
We will share a meal at the end of the day with a glass of wine to taste the fruits of your labour. With any luck, there will be extras for you to take home—so don’t forget your containers!
Always Fresh, Always Seasonal
